In the last few years that there
have been several potential student's that were very interested about taking Powered
Paragliding training, but were unsure about committing to taking a full Powered
Paragliding (PPG) Course. They really wanted to get more information about the sport and
see what PPG was all about before taking full training.
Therefore, PPGNB has
developed a One Day Introductory Training Course designed to answer these questions and to
allow the potential student to see what paramotor flying and training consist of.
The course will cover the
following:
Introduction to Powered Paragliding
equipment (Foot Launch and Trike) detailing the pro's and con's of of each type of
aircraft;
A powerpoint presentation class
covering how a Powered Paragliding is controlled in flight;
Practical hands on classes on
controlling the Paraglider (Trike only) using the ground simulator;
Controlling the PPG trike on the ground
to explain throttle control during launch; and
A 30 minute Tandem Flight where you
will assist me in flying the aircraft giving you a full understanding of what PPG flying
is all about.
The Tandem Flight will give you a
chance to really feel the thrill of flying a paramotor with a Transport Canada approved
Instructor!!
The aircraft that will be used will
be the Fly Products Xenit Trike.
These aircraft are used for
Instructional purposes only and all potential students will sign a waiver in relation to
this issue.
The ground training will be
conducted during the day and the Tandem Flights will only be conducted early mornings
between 06:30 - 09:00 am or evenings after 6:00 pm. Of course, weather depending.
Minimum age for the course is 18
yrs old.
Once you complete this Introductory
Course you will have the required experience to make an informed choice to see if you
seriously want to become a PPG Pilot.
Introductory Course $500.00;
Two personnel $399.00 each; and
If you decide to take a full Powered
Paragliding Course, half of your cost will be credited towards your full course.
